Ashley is a New Jersey native and made the move to the Lake Norman area around a year ago to be closer to family.  She completed her aesthetic training at Innovate Salon Academy in South Plainfield, New Jersey. However, she wanted to pursue the medical side of aesthetics and came to work at
M.D. Laser Studio to study under Dr. Andy and the other providers. Motivated and determined she has completed all her training and is our in-house medical esthetician. When Ashley is not working at M.D. Laser Studio she enjoys shopping and spending time with her family.

Dr. Rebecca Appleton is the co-owner of M.D. Laser Studio and married to Dr. Castillo. Dr. Appleton is a board-certified family physician, a Fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and a member of the International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery. She earned a B.S. from Duke University and M.S. from the University of Maryland. After earning her Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Dr. Appleton earned her M.D. at the University of Maryland. She practiced family medicine in Lake Norman for almost 20 years, focusing on women’s health, dermatology, and office procedures. She is extensively involved in all three businesses that she and her husband, Dr. Andy, own and operate while supervising a dedicated team of nurse injectors in the Lake Norman.Mooresville and Huntersville areas. In addition, she leads the treatments at M.D. Laser Studio for feminine rejuvenation. When she isn’t working or caring for their six children and her mother, she enjoys running, gardening, and anything involving their furry family members. 

Dr. Alissandro Castillo, or more commonly referred to as "Dr. Andy," is the co-owner and Medical Director of M.D. Laser Studio (co-owned with his wife, Dr. Rebecca Appleton).
He is a board-certified family medicine physician with extensive dermatological and surgical training. His education includes a B.S. from the University of Maryland, earned his M.D. at Wake Forest University, and then received both an M.B.A. and a Certificate in Health Care Management from Duke University Fuqua School of Business. While serving in the United States Army as a flight surgeon, he also successfully completed a plastic and reconstructive surgery research fellowship at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Andy contributes heavily in the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery participating on multiple committees and their preceptor program. He, along with his wife and partner Dr. Appleton Castillo, regularly teach continuing medical education (CME) courses on BOTOX®, dermal fillers and PRP (platelet rich plasma). His creativity doesn't end with enhancing patients or teaching. He currently holds two product patents and is constantly inventing new products. In his off time, he enjoys spending time with his family of eight, coaching lacrosse and performing DIY projects.

Sarah Gainey is a licensed medical esthetician at MDLS Huntersville, known for blending science-backed skincare with a refined, results-driven approach. Sarah is passionate about helping patients feel confident and cared for through customized protocols that deliver radiant results, bringing both precision and personalization to every treatment. While her educational background was in Business, she branched out to medical aesthetics to follow her true passion. Outside her treatment room, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters (usually soaking up the sunshine by the pool), and is a proud Tar Heel basketball fan!

Madison is a licensed medical esthetician at MDLS Mooresville who was born and raised in North Carolina. She attended school in Wilmington, NC where she received her degree in Hospitality Management. After moving back to the Lake Norman area, she decided to pursue her passion in corrective skin care. She attended the V Tran Beauty School in Charlotte, NC where she became passionate about medical aesthetics.  Striving to build personal connections with clients and learn about their individualized skin concerns set her apart and we are lucky to have her on staff. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as loving on her sweet Bernedoodle, Milo.
